If you smell gas or have a gas escape: DON’T Operate any electrical switches (on or off) Smoke or use a naked flame DO Contact National Gas Emergency Service Open doors and/or windows to ventilate the area Check your gas appliances and turn them off Turn the gas supply off at the main meter/or Emergency Control Valve Call the free National Gas Emergency number (0800 111 999) If a fire has started on the premises, immediately activate the fire alarm, evacuate the premises and call the fire brigade If it’s safe, you should also isolate the gas supply at the main meter Contact the National Gas Emergency Service
